LIFETIME

The activated carbon package must be replaced every 25 days. If the distilled water has a strange taste or smell, replace the activated carbon pack immediately.
The water will taste better if you use 2 sachets at a time.
Do not put unused, underused or currently used activated carbon packets in the refrigerator, where they can absorb odours and therefore give a bad taste to the water.
The new activated carbon packets may give off a small amount of a black powder that is completely harmless to human body. It is simply powdered charcoal and is safe to use.
Sealed activated charcoal packets should be kept in a cool place.

HOW DOES IT WORK AND DO YOU NEED IT?

An activated carbon filter consists of small pieces of granular carbon. Just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area of 500-3000 m2. 4 grams is equivalent to a football field. This surface area allows the filters to absorb pollutants and other substances very efficiently.
Activated carbon filters vary in their ability to remove pollutants, ranging in size from around 50 to 0.5 microns.
When water passes through carbon filters, the chemicals stick to the carbon, resulting in purer water. Efficiency depends on water flow and temperature.

WHAT DO ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS REMOVE?

Activated carbon removes contaminants, odour and bad taste from water.
Activated carbon is highly effective in removing at least 81 chemicals. In fact, it is much more than that, but the 81 are chemicals that have been rigorously tested.
The Environmental Protection Agency in the United States states that activated carbon is the only filter recommended to remove all 32 identified organic pollutants, including chlorine by-products. The same is true for 14 pesticides and 12 herbicides.
